Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's twenty-one championships have been won on hard courts
A resurgent Medvedev won his maiden trophy for nearly 30 months with victory over opponent Moutet in the tournament championship match.
The athlete, a ex- number one, has endured a difficult period, winning just one win at the Grand Slams and experiencing a difficult moment at the New York tournament.
His varied form on the ATP Tour - and difficulties with his serving in especial - led to him dropping out of the world's top 10 and finally splitting with long-term mentor Cervara.
Presently collaborating with his coach and Rohan Goetzke, he has steadily advanced in the last few weeks - peaking in a tightly fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 victory over opponent Corentin Moutet.
This marks Medvedev's first championship after the Rome competition and first on a hardcourt from that period of that year.
The win also means the Russian has won twenty-one championships at 21 various tournaments.
"This marks the first occasion I'm at a competition with my children at once, so to secure a trophy is especially meaningful," stated tennis professional the champion.
"This victory is in honour of my younger daughter her name, because the maiden victory I achieved when my child my daughter was delivered was for her."
The athlete, the former major winner, had been defeated in his previous six championship matches, featuring in that event earlier this year.
The player's defensive play style and recurring reactions on the tennis court had caused observers to wonder if his ability to play at the top level was concluded.
Yet the 29-year-old has altered his approach in the past month, making an effort to advance forward and play assertively, reinforced by an better serving game.
He recovered from a break down in the initial set against the tricky opponent, securing four of the final five games to go ahead.
The pair traded breaks in the middle set before the challenger, attempting for his initial ATP Tour championship, took control to force a decider.
The opponent rescued 4 initial break points in a close deciding set before the Russian secured a break to that score to serve for the match.
Suitably, he secured the win with a rally at the net, with the Frenchman failing to control a volley after a lengthy match.
